Who Killed the Electric Car – Movie Review

Actually it’s a documentary review, but all the same it’s about a movie called Who Killed the Electric Car.

This is mostly about GM’s EV1 electric car, how it worked and why it’s no longer available to the public (or anyone), in spite of the fact that it was really loved by everyone that drove them. The car would be driven to and from work, and for the majority of the US that trip is less than sixty miles, when you would get home, you would plug in the car and the battery would be charged using normal household electricity from the utility company. Maintenance of the vehicle basically consisted of rotating the tires, because you have only an electric motor you have no oil or transmission fluids and no fuel injectors, etc. When the leases expired GM, Toyota, Ford, etc. retrieved all the cars and destroyed them. (GM crushed them, Toyota shredded them, etc.)

It offers some very interesting facts about our vehicles and our normal uses of them. It also shows examples of the influence the big oil has on our economy and the automobile manufactures. It’s absolutely worth the 1.5 hours of your time and certainly offers some serious things to consider about our government(s), companies and our well being.

The movie can be purchased here (Who Killed the Electric Car) or downloaded (Who Killed the Electric Car – Download)
